A division with the history
NuboPoint is a division of EximiTech, a company that develops and manages web-based solutions designed to improve business operations. The name comes from the compound word "nubo", which means cloud in Esperanto, and "point" from English.
Although the Division was founded in 2020, its roots go back to the late 1990's, when the Internet began to emerge and corporate computerization began to accelerate.
At that time, a lot of effort and enthusiasm went into assembling computers and servers, and exploring operating systems, development environments, graphics and multimedia.
The start point of development
The first programs for chemical laboratories and commercial companies were developed in 1997 using the Delphi programming language. This was followed by C++, C sharp and Java.
With the advent of Windows XP, the new Visual Basic environment was chosen to speed up the creation of computer programs. These programs were also aimed at craftsmen and manufacturers.
Between 2003 and 2006, there was active cooperation in the adaptation of the Navision business system to the specific needs of users.
The first website platform
Web development has been implemented from the very beginning, but 2007 was the year of the transformation. It was decided that all new applications were going to be built to run on the Web.
PHP and Javascript were chosen as the programming languages. Although several Content Management Systems such as WordPress, Joomla, Durpal had been used for several years, none of them met the desired objectives.
For this reason, the development of IntraBasic was initiated, a web platform that is completely dedicated to the needs of the companies.
In 2012, the webshop platform was developed. The first webshop based on own platform was published in 2013.
The evolution in development
The rapid evolution of the web and the more and more demanding needs of the users were the reason for new choices. The year 2014 was the year of the implementation of Odoo as part of the company and the year of the transition to the new programming language Python.
The migration of the IntraBasic platform to the new environment began. The new Impressive platform, based on the Odoo version 9 environment, was released in 2017, replacing IntraBasic.
Throughout this period, various graphic tools have been used. These include Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Corel Draw, Affinity Photo, Affinity Design, Affinity Publisher, and video production software such as Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve.Server system changes
Years of use and experience have shaped the approach to operating systems. In the early days, a lot of attention was paid to the Windows operating system for both the workstations and the servers.
The first move to a Linux environment was made in 2007 with the launch of the hosting service. Several distributions were on trial, but soon Debian Linux was the choice for web servers.
In 2009, the decision was made to move the workstations from Windows to Linux as well, starting with SuSE and then moving completely to Debian.
In the first years, the hosting was done in the company's own premises, but in 2017, in order to ensure a higher level of protection and smooth operation of the servers, the company decided to cooperate with specialized companies in the field of server colocation.
Since then, the services have been running on dedicated servers and VPS systems from a number of partners, including Contabo, Domovanje and Netsons.
Although NuboPoint is a recent entry, it has a background of more than two decades of experience in IT, graphics and multimedia. Active collaboration with companies in the development of business applications and direct experience in the marketing, import and distribution of a wide variety of products have provided a broad view of the needs in business processes.
After 25 years of development, continuous improvement and adaptation to new needs, the new AdminiWeb platform has been released and the renewed DataNubo cloud services have been launched.
